ABOUT ME

I’m a 24 year old artist from Northumberland, England. My speciality is watercolour animal portraits - I love to paint their personalities and expressions, and it's also very rewarding to be capturing a special pet.

I've loved both animals and art from a young age. I grew up working at a riding school, and went on to work with many different horses in a range of disciplines and countries. Naturally, I love bringing their elegance to life on paper, and will admit that horses are my favourite subjects to paint.

I started my animal portrait business when I was 13, and ten years on, I'm now taking worldwide commissions and exhibiting my work in galleries.​

When I'm not working on pet portraits, I also like to explore other subjects and experiment with different media, and my other main artistic passion is acrylic on canvas. I use this medium to explore stories, emotion and atmosphere through use of light and people. My acrylic paintings can be found at www.roisinlyst.co.uk. 

 I have also done some illustration work including two children's books.
